God is so great and worthy to be praised by everything.  He is the master creator and all His creation should praise Him.  He has made to many wonderful things with such detail.  Praise the Lord!!!

Creature Tip: Never place a fish directly into Tap water/water from your faucet this includes well water.  Tap water has chlorine and sometimes other chemicals in it that are harmful to fish and could kill them!  If you have a good filter system for your water in your house, it should be okay to use that water for your fish, providing your filter system removed enough of the chemicals from the water.  There are two other ways to make tap water safe for fish.  One is to set out the water in a bowl or other container for 24 hours so that the chlorine and chemicals will mostly evaporate.  The second is you can treat the tap water with a water conditioner like “Aqua Safe” and the water will instantly become safe for fish.  You can get “Aqua Safe” at most Wal-Marts and pet stores. Aqua Safe also puts a protective coating on the fish’s body so it’s a good idea to use it before catching a fish with a net. There are other brands of water conditioners for fish too besides Aqua Safe (Aqua Safe is just a brand we have used).

Tap water can cause a fish to die depending on how high the levels of chemicals are in the tap water.  Some fish, such as Goldfish, are a hardy fish but other are delicate fish and can easily be killed by tap water.   We recommend you play it safe and protect all your fish by using a water conditioner before moving fish and when adding water to the tank.  If you want to go more in depth with your fish’s water, you can even buy test kits for their tank’s water.  With a general test kit you will be able to check the pH balance, Ammonia, Nitrite, and Nitrate levels.  You can even buy test kits to check Calcium levels, Copper levels and more!  If you are having problems with your fish chances are it’s the water and you should check that first then if not the water you may have a sickness or parasite your dealing with and will need to look into that.
