Water Bottles & Rodents

Bible Verse: Genesis 1:26 Then God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.”
God has given us dominion over all the animals. Sometimes people get too carried away with animals and treat them better than people. We often forget or some people don’t know that we are to have dominion over the animals. Don’t get me wrong, I love animals but I don’t believe in serving them. Yes, we are to care for the animals “A righteous man regards the life of his animal…” Proverbs 12:10, but just remember that animals are not people and a person is worth more than an animal. If we are not careful we can go too far. People are above animals, and we are to serve the Creator and NOT the creature Romans 1:25.
Creature Tip: Most people know that water bottles are the best way to offer clean fresh water to their little furry guy. Clean water is very important to keep a rodent healthy.
There are many different styles of water bottles in all sizes some are plastic and others glass. The two main things you want when selecting a bottle is a leak-free bottle and one that holds enough water for your pet. Bottles that do not leak (usually) are ones that have a spring loaded ball. A spring loaded ball tip works like this; after the tip of a water bottle has been pressed, the ball will automatically spring back into place thus sealing the tip. Other bottles that are not spring loaded rely on the pressure of the water to push the ball back into place. This can be a problem, because if the water does not put enough pressure on the ball it will not seal thus it will leak. If a bottle is not cleaned often it may start to leak too, regardless if it is spring loaded or not. Slime and other grime can build up causing the ball not to seal properly. Use a baby bottle brush and soap to clean the bottle. You can also use a Q-tip to clean the nozzle/tip. Make sure you rinse all parts of the water bottle thoroughly. There are some bottles that do not have a ball but a very tiny hole. This type of bottle is only good for small pets, like mice, because it allows only a small drop of water to come out at a time.
Remember to always keep your receipt when you buy a new bottle just in case it is defective and leaks. One last thought about water bottles is, always make sure your pet’s bedding material is not touching the tip or it can cause the bottle to leak.
