Bichon Frise Creative Grooms

About

This is our dog Cody.  He is a rescued Bichon Frise with a little bit of Maltese in him.  Cody is a very sweet dog.  He is very attached to our groomer and follows her all around.  Some say he worships our groomer but in reality he just sees her as the leader of the pack.  It takes a special dog like Cody that likes it when we do what is called “Extreme Creative Grooming”. But almost all dogs love little creative grooming jobs done on their fur.  Some people may think it is not nice to do this on dogs but the truth is Cody is jealous when our groomer is grooming other dogs besides him.  Extreme creative grooming can take hours but all that time is spent on the dog and they love the attention and it is NOT all done at one time but spaced out over a few days so the dog is NOT on the table for hours at a time.  Also when Cody is taken out he attracts attention from people that want to pet him.  So you see creative grooming just gives a dog a lot more attention and love.  Also dogs that are getting this kind of positive attention makes the dog become friendlier and more socialized.  Cody was a rescue off the street and was very shy (we suspect that someone use to hit him).  When Cody is in color we see a HUGE difference in his personality!  He is more outgoing and friendlier.  He walks like a supper star and loves to go out and meet his new fans!  Adding color to Cody’s coat has helped his self esteem a lot!  We use non toxic, ammonia and bleach free, non oxidizing dyes (it’s all perfectly safe).

The Bible verse Job 40:15 was my inspiration and theme for this grooming creation. If you continue on reading, from verse 15, I think you will agree that God is talking about a dinosaur. The King James Bible was first translated into English in 1611. The word “dinosaur” was not invented until 1841. In this verse the word behemoth was used and the word dinosaur did not exist yet.

Job 40:15 “Look now at the behemoth, which I made along with you; He eats grass like an ox.

Here is a photo of Cody and and our groomer (photo above) at the 2013 Groom and Kennel Expo Creative Styling Contest! This was our very first grooming contest of any kind and even though we did not place we still had a lot of fun! There were a total of 8 dogs entered in this contest and one competitor was from China. You can see the video of all the groomer’s presentations —-> at this link <—-. Our groomers presentation starts a little bit after 17 minutes into the video. There was a lot of talent at this competition and some of the competitors were competing for their 27th time!

This is Cody (photo below) right after the competition.  He was so happy to be at this competition he would not stop wagging his tail!  On Cody’s right side we put a cross that reads “One Nation Under God”.  We also added an astronaut to Cody’s right side because America sent the first person to the moon and on July 20, 1969 Neil Armstrong became the first human to step on the moon!

Below you can see Cody’s left side.  Our theme for this groom was One Nation Under God.  So we put the United Stats of America on Cody and turned it into a flag and added crosses for the stars to show that we want God in America again!

In this photo below you see Cody as the Statue of Liberty.  Also we have included two other dogs added to Cody’s photo to make a point.  These two other dogs have been neglected and not groomed in many months thus causing them pain and lots of discomfort.  These other two dogs are cases of extreme grooming neglect!!  Please note the difference between creative grooming and animal abuses.

1 Peter 5:7 Give all your worries to him, because he cares for you. 8 Control yourselves and be careful! The devil is your enemy, and he goes around like a roaring lion looking for someone to attack and eat. 9 Refuse to follow the devil. Stand strong in your faith. You know that your brothers and sisters all over the world are having the same sufferings that you have. 10 Yes, you will suffer for a short time. But after that, God will make everything right. He will make you strong. He will support you and keep you from falling. He is the God who gives all grace. He chose you to share in his glory in Christ. That glory will continue forever. 11 All power is his forever. Amen.
